Lin Jo-chan, VIOLONCELLO
Carlotta Masci, PIANOFORTE
Variations on a Slovak Folksong for Cello & Piano
Sonata in A major G. 4
Rondo in G minor Op. 94
Sonata Arpeggione D 821
The warm sound of the cello and the brilliant touch of the piano. Two instruments whose voice can so beautifully be combined together. From Luigi Boccherini’s sonata in the most pure classical style to the neoclassic language of Bohuslav Martinu. The concert ends with Schubert’s most famous sonata Arpeggione, written for a special instrument, somehow between a cello and a guitar, but with 6 strings:
the sonata is thus among the most challenging works for the instrument.
